Learning about Indigenous cultures in Australia is crucial for students as it fosters respect, inclusivity, and a deeper understanding of our history. Time spent listening to or taking part in activities with our guides enriches education by highlighting diverse perspectives, traditional and knowledge systems.
Learning about Mandingalbay Yidinji culture promotes reconciliation, strengthens identity and helps us to preserve our valuable heritage for future generations.
In 2024 Mandingalbay Authentic Indigenous Tours won the prestigious Queensland Reconciliation Award.
Curriculum aligned education programs for primary, secondary, and tertiary students are delivered by our guide team in half day tours throughout the year and during winter months (May to October) overnight camps.
Tours showcase the diversity of natural land and sea environments, the traditional land management practices and provide opportunities for students to engage in the practical activities that allowed the Mandingalbay People to live sustainably on country for thousands of years.
Students can participate in hands on conservations activities which we have developed in partnership with the Cairns Far North Queensland Environment Centre, including monitoring and observation activities across our salt marsh and mangrove environments.
