Important Information: COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements

Mandingalbay Authentic Indigenous Tours is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our customers and staff when travelling on any of our cultural tours, staying overnight on a camping tour, or taking part in any of our Deadly Dinner events.

 

In accordance with the Queensland Government public health directive, as of 17 December 2021, we will ensure that all our tour staff are vaccinated. At this date it will also become a requirement for all customers 16 years and older to be vaccinated with an approved COVID-19 vaccine to travel with us, unless they have been granted an appropriate medical exemption.

 

Proof of vaccination will need to be provided before joining any of our Aboriginal cultural tourism experiences.

You can prove your vaccination by:

  • Linking your COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate to your Check In Qld app. 
  • If unable to use the Check in Qld app, you can alternatively show proof of your COVID-19 vaccination certificate via;
    • Medicare app
    • Apple Wallet
    • A printed copy of your COVID-19 vaccination certificate, or immunisation history statement.

In accordance with the Queensland Governments mandatory regulations and advice, customers that check-in and are unable to provide proof of vaccination will be declined travel and cancellation charges may apply relevant to our product cancellation policy fees and charges.

Check in Qld App

We’re using the new Check In Qld app to help keep you COVID safe during your visit. It’s free, quick and easy to use.

 

If you don’t already have the application you can visit www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld

 

When you check-in to any of our tours or events;

  • open the app on your phone
  • select ‘Check in Now’ and scan or enter our QR code.

General measures implemented as mandatory include:

  • All persons must sanitise hands on boarding vessels (hand sanitiser will be provided).
  • Cashless transactions preferred.
  • Hand sanitising and hand wash stations throughout vessels.
  • Staff training and awareness of COVID safe practices.
  • Signage displayed onboard.
  • Mandingalbay Ancient Indigenous Tour has the right to refuse participation in tours and activities should customers refuse to comply with the conditions of COVID safe practices.

Staff Screening

  • All staff are aware that they MUST NOT attend work if they have any symptoms potentially consistent with COVID-19.
  • Staff screening will be undertaken prior to commencement of each workday.

Cleaning & Hygiene - Additional COVID-19 measures:

  • Customers and staff will be provided access to hand sanitisers.
  • Additional cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and washroom facilities will be completed throughout your visit with us.

These general guidelines follow the Queensland Health and Australian Government Department of Health current recommendations.


Advice will be amended in accordance with the most up to date recommendations.
