Good people doing great work... Mandingalbay offer a cross-section of the regions history and culture in an impassioned and informative way. A 'must' for anyone seeking an insight into the lesser-known history of the First Australians of the wider Cairns and Yarrabah region.

40 000 years+ in the making #the world's longest continuous living culture We chose the Hands on Country tour as our Team's Team Bonding Day activity. This was the most amazing experience for all of us. Our work group are both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal, we all learned so much and had a great time.Highly recommend this tour. Will definitely be returning with other family and friends.

Great friendly guides on a great tour Really happy i came found this tour. A short boat and bus trip to where the tour begins. Our guides Vincent and sister Larissa are lovely. Vincent is a funny bloke i especially love the dog tree joke. There are signs along the way of what each tree/plant means/ can be used for, handy to take photos of the signs if your forgetful like me. I loved the smoking ceremony the smell of the fire brings me happy camping memories. Its a place you can be at one with yourself if you close your eyes and take in the energy and listen to the birds. Larissa tells us about her family and the fact they have to leave their customs and beliefs behind if they choose leave. I guess the time of year was not the time we could taste some of the delicious food that grow in the bush. I did love washing my hands and face thanks to the soap tree. Dont miss this tour

Interesting tour led by First Nations people Great tour run and delivered by local indigenous people. Welcoming, interesting and defiantly worth doing. We learnt a lot about how the local people lived on the land, the tools they used and the food they ate and used.
